Back at The Dock

Worked The Comedy Dock at Becky's on the Waterfront last night. Kevin Lee hosted, Rob Maher (with a brand new CD out, by the way) middled. Good times all around. Met the gang from the Valvoline Quick-Lube joint in Edgewater...They were almost as much fun as the crew from the pawn shop. I'll say this about you guys Edgewater: whatever it is that you do for a living, you stick together, even socially. You've got the Midshipmen over here, the pilots over there (love the Lee INTERNATIONAL Airport, BTW...Lots of parking!). Had a blast...I'm back New Year's Eve. Email Kevin Lee for more information.

Open Mic at the Comedy Dock, Edgewater, MD

Went out to the rarest of shows last night,(for me)an open mic within 10 minutes of home. I remember starting out, I used to drive a couple of hours to try and get an open mic spot. But there is a new club, The Comedy Dock (formerly the South River Cafe) in Edgewater, MD. Really a nice place (2 for 1 Bud bottles!)and a good show as well. Pro Kevin Lee (he books the room now) hosted. We saw Big Mike, Stretch and Kenny Speed among others. The was a pawn shop guy who was pretty good, too. Standouts included Lawrence Owens (I worked with this guy a couple of weeks ago at Zig's in Alexandria), Matt Kazam (headlining the pro shows this weekend). I even jumped in for a little time at the end. Good time. Hope these guys make it.
